The story of BOVOMED Awards & Decorations

No success without a story. This also applies to BOVOMED Awards & Decorations. Since 2006, André Vogel and BOVOMED have been synonymous with high quality and unparalleled hospitality. This is also evident from the high level of customer satisfaction. But what makes his success story so unique? He will gladly tell you himself.

You can read the soldier’s resume on his chest

“Defense has been a common thread throughout my life. In 1981, I joined the Royal Navy. In 1986, I transferred to the Royal Military Police. From day one, I have had a more than normal interest in military traditions and the associated awards and medals. ‘What is the story behind each soldier? What mission has he or she been on?’ I wanted to understand everything, it intrigued me enormously. They sometimes say: ‘You can read a soldier’s resume on his or her chest’. And I realized that all too well. Certainly after my own deployments to the Sinai, Cambodia, Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Each and every one of them wonderful and impressive experiences. I experienced the special achievements of soldiers up close and admire them enormously. I see the associated awards and medals as the well-deserved recognition and appreciation. The formatting of awards and medals must also radiate that. Unfortunately, I saw that this had to be improved. And it could be done!”

From attic to office building

In 2006 we started BOVOMED Awards & Decorations with two people. In an attic room. Can you picture it? A big tough guy with needle and thread, haha! My colleagues gave me the first assignments. And I randomly asked soldiers: ‘what can and should be improved?’ Soon the water was up to my proverbial lips – fortunately. The attic room became a garage and the garage soon became a company building.

Design for awards and medals from home and abroad!

Together with three highly skilled seamstresses, I am now busy every day with the formatting of the most diverse awards and medals. Not only for all Dutch armed forces, but also for foreign awards and medals we can format – in accordance with the regulations that apply there. We even have most ribbons in stock. This of course also applies to awards and medals of veterans, the Dutch police, fire brigades and customs personnel. And even the Limburg shooting clubs and the North Brabant shooting guilds know where to find us regularly. Because these traditions also deserve a correct and high-quality formatting of their awards and medals. We think along, switch quickly and are almost always available. This also applies to our office in Oirschot; in no time you are on all the arterial roads to the entire country.

Rattling awards

In all those years, one thing has not changed: we do not settle for less than the highest quality. I am incredibly demanding in that respect. I check all the awards and medals formatted by the seamstresses myself: ‘Would I want to wear it myself? Is there anything rattling somewhere?’ I really hate rattling awards and rattling medals. You don’t say that you are good quickly. But according to the loving customer reviews, we excel in quality, hospitality, speed and flexibility. In any case, everyone is very welcome, the coffee is always ready!”
