What types of medals are there?

Awards and military medals can be made up in three versions. Each with its own rules for the design and wearing thereof.

Large model

For civilians, the large model is worn on the left chest, hanging from the ribbon. Women wear the model on the left shoulder on the ribbon bow. Military personnel attach the large model to the ribbon and wear it on the left chest.

Small model

Different rules apply to a small model than to the large model. This is a miniature version of the large model. The small model is worn on the left chest of a tailcoat, military evening dress or tuxedo. Ladies wear the small model on a bow on the dress.

Baton

A baton is a decorative ribbon that is wrapped around a bar and a soldier wears this on his daily uniform. If you are the proud bearer of four batons, they are decorated next to each other. If you wear more than four batons, the batons are decorated stacked. Soldiers of the Navy, Police, Fire Brigade and Justice wear a maximum of three batons next to each other.

How much does it cost to have a medal formatted?

Depending on the type of military award or medal, there are costs involved. However, if you are an active military officer or in service with the national police, you can declare the full amount with Defense or the National Police respectively. Please contact us if you have any questions about the costs, the declaration or our working method.

Where can I order a military medal or award?

With us you can order very easily via the order form. Then you can drop off the decorations at our office in Oirschot or send them to us by registered mail. After ordering, the process of making up the military medals starts.
